On my author site, lindaharperwrites.facebook.comI cannot get my profile picture into the smaller site within the Large cover picture. I cannot drag and drop it, I want my picture in the smaller space as my profile pic. But it will not do this. Please check and get back to me asap
Troy, The profile icon is displayed at 125125; however, Facebook oddly requires a minimum upload size of 180180. Unfortunately, the mobile rescale is something controlled by Facebook and your device, so there is nothing I know of that we can do to change how it appears there. I just updated my Facebook iPhone app now, and it still does not display cover photos for Facebook Pages, only personal Profiles. Are you seeing cover photos for Pages in the app version?
Mine changed me over to the new timeline. When I open it I still see my wall in the same way but when others open it they see the cover photo and timeline. If you click on your profile name in top right corner you can see how others see it.
Thank you so much for this information. In the past I found myself guesstimating and going to extremes to make things line up! now with the exact pixel measurements it took me less than 2 minutes to achieve the timeline cover/profile image that look blended together. ?
In my experience with the app, uploading a photo (either a standalone cover, or cover with profile picture included) did not change my cover and profile picture on Facebook itself--it only uploaded them. I then had to log in to my Facebook account and manually change my cover and profile picture to the uploaded photo or photos.

A word to the wise: if you aren't going to change your profile picture, just leave the profile pic section blank in the app. If you don't, you will have a new album created with your profile picture being duplicated each time you upload a cover.
Say cheese: this is going to be the photo representing you or your brand on Facebook. This is the square photo that appears on your timeline layered over your cover photo. Your profile picture will also appear when you post to other walls, comment on posts or when your profile is searched.
Your Facebook cover photo will only appear on your Facebook timeline, but it is a lot bigger than the profile picture, which gives you more freedom to choose something creative. Where your profile picture might be a good choice for a picture of you, or a brand logo, use this space to post something that speaks more toward you as an individual or as a brand.
Facebook has added the ability to create a fundraiser for charitable organizations or personal causes. The cover photo for these fundraisers slightly varies from a typical Facebook cover photo, with a minimum size of 400 x 150. 1. To begin, create a blank canvas instead of just opening a photo, so you will be able to set the exact size you need. Start by going to File > New. Set the dimensions to 1702 (Width) by 630 (Height) pixels (set Units drop-list to Pixels') as these are the dimensions of the Facebook Timeline cover.
3. Use the Organizer palette to display the folder which contains the photos that you will be using in your Timeline cover. To display the Organizer palette, click Palettes > Organizer on the Standard toolbar (or press Shift + F9). You can see your list of folders by clicking the Show/Hide Navigation button in the upper-left corner of the palette.
The biggest visual change included in Facebook timeline is creation of a cover photo. When someone lands on your page they not only see a small square profile image but also a large photo that you have selected for the top of your page. The shape can a little intimidating and includes a hole where the profile image rests. But you can crop or create your own timeline cover photo in just a few minutes. Follow along as we take a look at some great examples and advice for creating the perfect cover photo.
The cover photo covers the width of the timeline but does not change size based on browser width. It remains 720 pixels wide. The photo is 265 pixels deep, but gains a little added depth with the addition of the profile photo box. Because of the size requirement, Facebook recommends uploading a high resolution photo for the cover image and acknowledges that all photos, especially those will low resolutions, can be used as a cover photo.
But those numbers might be a little hard to work with. A standard photo print is 6 inches wide by 4 inches high. For comparison, the Facebook timeline cover image aspect ratio is about 4 inches wide and 1.5 inches high. For your cover photo you will crop nearly half of the vertical space out of the image.
You do not have to have a pre-cropped image available in Facebook to create the cover photo. As long as any photo is wide enough to cover the space, Facebook will let you drag the photo within the cover image box for use. But just any old picture is not going to make a striking cover image. For a timeline cover with pop, you need to take the extreme horizontal aspect ratio into consideration. 2ff7e9595c
