After arriving at the bunker, Ben is told by General James Eiger that the Hubble Space Telescope has photographed a fleet of alien ships heading towards Earth. Fearing the worst, the world's chemical, nuclear, and biological weapons stockpiles were linked to create a single doomsday weapon. Five people, including Ben, are placed in five United Nations Strategic Air Command bunkers around the world (the United States, Russia, China, South Africa, and Australia), with the mission of controlling the activation of a final revenge weapon should the aliens turn out to be hostile and attempt to take over. An alarm sounds randomly, and at least one of the bunker occupants must hit a fail-deadly dead man's switch to temporarily disarm it. The switch is designed so that the operator's handprint and retinal scan are required for it to work. If a thirty-second countdown passes and no-one activates the switch, the doomsday weapon will fire and leave the surface of the Earth uninhabitable within one week. General Eiger assures Ben that if the aliens try to disarm the system, they will set it off and that "if we don't make it out of this alive, then no one else will either." To prevent the bunker occupants from being fed false information, they are sealed off from the world and can communicate only with each other and General Eiger.
Against the overarching facts of his personal magnetism and the blind loyalty of his lieutenants, the movie observes the workings of the world within the bunker. All power flowed from Hitler. He was evil, mad, ill, but long after Hitler's war was lost he continued to wage it in fantasy. Pounding on maps, screaming ultimatums, he moved troops that no longer existed, issued orders to commanders who were dead, counted on rescue from imaginary armies.

i made a new account a while ago. i put 97 hours into it so far. everything is perfect, but i cannot do dead money. i still have the sierra madre broadcast and the sierra madre grand opening! quest but when i go to the bunker it is locked and needs a key(well known to be nonexistant) can i unlock it or was all of this for nothing?
I had the same problem for the ps3 I got to the bunker and it was locked I deleted the update and could get in and started the Sierra madre then I went and found god/dog than the girl after that the ghoul, went back to the fountain but Elijah kept saying I had to find all three leaving me unable to proceed the DLC.to fix this entire mess I had to do it like this go to the bunker and wait an hour so it auto saves quit the game remove the game data (not the dlc's) the game with the patches wont see your DLC anyway, go in the bunker and save and quit again update the game than load and start Sierra madre now,if you don't update but start and find all three and go to the fountain Elijah will say you have to find all three even while they're all there, when that happens to me I tried to save and load but that just made the ghoul dean go back to the house he was found at refusing to follow you again so make sure that once your in the bunker or have started Sierra madre that you update, I know it sucks cause updating takes forever and it's already sucking enough that they did not fix this so you spend money on something and you have to go to a entire list of issues to finally play it but its still bethesda and all there games are full of annoying bugs that don't get fixed like they don't care...customer service doesn't mean anything to them but still they have awesome games...for me I finished dead money didn't like it that much anyway so I play new Vegas all the time but I will never go through so much trouble for dead money again it just ain't worth to play a second time..
